Punta Esmeralda, Cruz de Huanacaxtle

Year of Project: 2008

Scope of Project: Interior design, procurement and construction supervision for a 4,000-square feet, two story, luxury penthouse.

Special requirements: My client had seen the Four Seasons Villas and fell in love with them and asked me for the same style but on a different budget. They also were very hands on in all the decisions made.

Design Approach: The only way I could do the look the client wanted and not compromise the quality was to extract from the concept they had in mind and make sure that all pieces were carefully selected, were straightforward and emitted the same sense of high-end value. Every item from the hand hewn recycled wood coffee table, to the hand-woven and embroidered table runner to the tree of life from Metepec counted.

Conclusion: The project was completed on time and on budget and was a great exercise for me in exporting a certain style and place and reinterpreting it to fit the palapa style coastal architecture and the budget.
